Shuttle Launch Day
It was a busy day, golf in the morning and in the mid afternoon I met up with 20 other Motorcycles from the Daytona HOG (Harley Owners Group) for a ride to Merritt Island to watch the last launch of the Space Shuttle of Discovery. The weather was perfect as we rode south on the hwy 1 to Merritt island, it turns out to be a good spot to watch the launch with easy access and egress. Tens of thousands of people were in the launch area to watch. According to the news traffic was backed up until midnight heading back toward Orlando. We simply rode back out to the hwy 1 and headed north, no big deal at all. About half of the group met up for a pop and dinner at the First Turn in Port Orange, good group of people. One steak dinner, this time $9.99 for a 12oz new york, don't know how they do it, good dinner, all of the food looked good.
It was a busy, fun day, a ride home in the dark and early to bed.
