Secrets of the Harley
It was a hot wonderful day yesterday from the get go, no jackets required even from the early morning.
I was on the first tee at 7:45 am and enjoyed a fair game of golf but lost $1:10 in dimes to my opponents, what are you ging to do.
I did a quick grocery stop on the way home from the golf course in preparation for the late afternoon arrival of brother Gord, planned arrival 6:00pm actual arrival 6:20pm, darn good guessing I would say.
The afternoon was spent with friend CT at his house installing my new rear header pipe on the Harley. I had planned to attempt this installation my self on the garage floor of the condo but I heard buddy CT had a bike lift
CT is a real nice fellow and when asked if I could use his lift he said sure. Man I was real glad for the lift, ALL of his tools (and he has a bunch) and his expertise. The job took the two of us about an hour, some time spent figuring things out and time spent working in very tight areas with CT's specialty tools. CT has a few oddities that you would not find in a regular collection of tools, a cut down 1/2 inch wrench, special Allen key wrenches and a bunch of motorcycle experience. Turns out he has built and re-built a bunch of Harley's. I am now on his apprenticeship program. Job done, the new rear header pipe is a complete re-design from the old one, it fits better, the material is now steel instead of stainless steel, it looks good.
A new my bike Harley Secret uncovered, my Harley is running way Lean, have to do something about that and this is going to be a pain. NEXT!
