Water here in Florida is fairly expensive so you don't want to be watering your grass with city water.
I decided that I could have a nice green lawn if I could have a source of free water in the form of a well. I called around and the well drillers want a fair chunck of change to drill a well.
The internet search started and found a site with videos that showed how to dig a shallow well.
The quest was on, I bought all of the bits and pieces and set up to drill my own well. The idea drew a lot of interest from a bunch of my buddies.
A handful of buddies showed up yesterday for well drilling day.
We had a lot of fun but the experience turned out to be a failure.
To drill the well you need lots of water pressure and as importantly volume. In spite of the 2 3/4 inch hose lines from 2 different source we could not supply enough water for the VERY Sandy dirt where we wanted to drill the well. The ground just soaked up the water so fast the drilling process could not bring the drill taillings to the surface.
We made it to about the 9 foot level but I think we needed to make 25feet, this was not to happen.
OH well one more good thought gone astray!
