OutStanding Weather
It was one more outstanding weather day in Florida, Oh yes it was also Prayer meeting day.
The turn out was good. When it came time to ride for lunch the group broke up and headed in different directions. I rode with what has turned out to be my regular little group, 4 bikes. CT led the way up hwy1 and just after the St Augustine turn off we stopped at a little BBQ shake for lunch, UMMM, pork sandwich, sauce, coleslaw and a drink, man it was good.
Off we went on the river run. Up this end of Florida the St John's river is large, at first I thought we were on some big lake but no it was the river. The St. Johns River is the longest river in the U.S. state of Florida and its most significant for commercial and recreational use. At 310 miles (500 km) long, it winds through or borders twelve counties, three of which are the state's largest. Very neat ride.
We ended up passing thru Palatka where a large Nuclear Power Plant resides, a great deal of Florida power is Nuclear. Today's picture the cooling towers.
It was a great ride, Started away from the condo at 9:30 am and did not arrive back until 5:50pm, long day and 200 miles had passed by.
