Savannah Weekend

The Ride Group!

The Ldies of 4he Group.

It  was a nice day on Friday when 17 Motorcycles with a total of 34 people left Daytona Beach heading north towards Savannah Georgia for the weekend. The route was for he most part non interstate. We stopped for gas just before the Georgia state line and those not wearing helmets had to put them on to meet the law.
A few miles  he road we stopped at Captain Jacks for lunch. An outdoor BBQ spot, picnic tables along with a smokey fire.   Captain Jack, now much older is a retired actor was on site and mixed with the group, good fun.
Lunch is now over and we are behind schedule, off to the Interstate for the last 100 miles. We arrive in Savannah and get checked into he hotel.
One thing about this crowd is they like to eat and drink. Time for a few beers, a walk down River Street to dinner. Great dinner, seafood sampler for me. It is now late, time for bed,I slept like a rock.
Next morning a quick tour of Savannah on a bus. Big very old city with bags of history, all neat stuff.
Off to lunch with the group, Tybee Island, The Crab Shack, nice ride. One more outdoor eating spot with a smokey fire and good BBQ. Oh full once again.
Back to Savannah for a daylight walk on River Street. River Street is a big Tourist trap, very busy with large diversity of people, very interesting indeed.
Dinner yes bikers like to eat. Off to the world famous  Paula Deans. We had reservation but still had to wait about half an hour to get seated. Most had the buffet, it was ok but not outstanding.
After dinner folks went their own ways. I went to downtown, had a beer and listed to some music, lots of available entertainment.
Later at the Hotel I joined part of our group for a beverage and listened to the BS, some of these folks know each other for a long time.
Next morning people head towards home not as the group we came up with. I head out withe group leader and his wife to the I95, they are in a hurry, Hammer Lane, 75 to 80mph all the way home, back at the condo in less than 3 hours.
Great trip, good people, too much food and I have seen as much of Savannah as I need to, WOW!
