Busy Christmas Weekend
It was a busy Christmas weekend that started with a gathering of friends on Friday evening.
It was a Florida garage party, people here live in there garages, the evening was outstandingly warm so being outside in shorts and a tee shirt was wonderful. This was a fun evening with good food and friends.
After a fairly late evening I met up with the HOG chapter on Saturday for a ride over to Deland for a Pizza Lunch.
Some 15 bikes showed up, it was a cooler day but a good ride. The Pizza at Tony's N.Y. Pizza was outstanding.
Home for a quick shower and off to a Christmas Eve gathering and Turkey/Ham dinner. It was a cooler evening some we enjoyed a few adult type beverages around an outdoor fire, it was great. Friend Linda prepared a wonderful dinner. I don't think there were a lot of left overs. We sat around the fire to late into the evning after dinner. Man one more late night.
Christmas Day, off for what has become a traditional free game of golf at the Daytona golf course. What a nice golf course. Unfortunately for me I was tired and did not feel my best, all I can say is I enjoyed the walk, oh yes it was hot and humid. Off to the condo for a shower after which I jumped on the bike to head over to the Iron Horse bar.
The bar owner cooks up a couple of turkeys and ham. The patrons bring in covered dishes of whatever. What a spread of food, did I say FREE and I know there were lots of left overs!
The food was outstanding and the place was real busy, this is part of the biker culture down south. Just something we do not have back home. Yes I loved the Seafood Gumbo, wish I knew who made this, it was the outstanding taste of the day.
WOW, I am beat, off for a little ride on the bike and back to the condo. No dinner for me, I can't keep my eyes open, off to bed, I held off until 8pm although I wanted to hit the rack earlier.
I must say that this was one of my busiest Christmas periods that I can remember in a long time.
FUN!
