Interesting Day

Ruger 6, Taurus Judge, Beretta U22

45 Colt long  against 22LR, big difference.

The Ruger 6 against the little Derringer, again big difference.

Yup outside the jail building.

Well it was warm enough yesterday but we had fairly high winds and roving rain showers. We were on the bikes and did a get a bit damp on a couple of occasions.
I was up early and on the road to buddy CT's place, it was to be one of our shooting days. We picked up jack and met Gary at the range. We brought a bevy of firearms with us, mostly 22lr but CT decided he would bring along his Judge. The Judge shoots 45 cal long colt and 410 gauge shotgun from the same cylinder. This one beast of a home defense weapon that CT had not yet fired.
We arrived at the range just on time and were able to secure the required 4 shooting positions. As the morning progressed the place filled up. All of the guns I shoot belong to CT who has a good collection. I have grown very fond of his 22 Ruger 6 shooter single action. New to CT's collection is  Beretta U22 which I talked him into buying. The Beretta is a sweet 22lr semi shooter, you can burn through a lot of ammo in a hurry shot out of its 10 shot magazines. On top of that the Beretta feels good in you hand and shoots well. Just for fun in the pictures you will see a little derringer,   also a 22lr. This little derringer had never been fired before so it was a bit of an experiment, it is almost dangerous it is so small in your hand it is hard to hold and you could get your fingers in front of the barrel, oh ya you can't hit shit with it at 15 yards.
The big experience of the day for me was shooting the judge loaded with 45 long colt. All I can say is holly shit, big, powerful and loud! I think I had my eyes closed for the first shot. I fired 10 rounds, enough for me. CT fired a couple of shotgun rounds through the weapon, this thing is a real for sure beast and well suited for a home defense job.
We shot up a lot of paper and later were off to get CT a new set of finger prints for his CWP. We were thinking this was done at the Sheriffs office. NOT, we ended up at the county jail, don't know why but I felt kind of nervous there behind the Razor wire and the lock up. Oh well one more interesting Florida adventure.
One more great day had passed us by.

Better than half the Americans I know down here have a Concealed Weapons Permit and carry all of the time. I can only imagine how many carry without a permit!
