What fun, and Cheap!
Nice day before the New Year here in Daytona.
The afternoon was spent enjoying some great CHEAP fun, for me in anycase.
We met up with a group of friends at the Daytona Kennel Club to watch the dogs run.
On certain holidays (today included) you can watch the dogs run, place a few $2 bets, enjoy 50 cent draft beers and hotdogs. Lots of families out taking in the 50 cent hotdogs, leaving the serving area with 10 or more dogs on a tray.
Well I took $10 to bet (I am not a big gambler), won on one race $19.20 and decided to call it a day in the betting arena. I bought 2 hotdogs, 6 beers (not all for me) left a tip or two and came out with a couple of more bucks in my pocket than I went in with.
What great fun for nothing in my case.
I left the track and some of my friends were still trying come out even or ahead.
One thing about betting, you can be sure someone has to loose to pay out the others.
