It was a cool to cold morning as the pictures will to
indicate. The group started off small as we left Beach Street a long way tour
towards Sparky’s for lunch. Our intrepid leader Don tried to explain
the route but I think the information was falling on mostly deaf ears. The
route started in the usual manner, getting to hell out of Daytona. On the way
out of town we observed a bad case of road rage where we saw an older mad
beating on a car and kicking out its tail light, a case for the Police I am
sure. We kept moving hoping not to hear gun shots, be cool out there babies!!!
We were soon on the under construction I92. Under my breath
I said what to hell is this. We soon exited the I92 unto the Old Daytona Road,
the ride had begun.
Don toured us through a bevy of back roads, some I had never
been on a couple I had. What a nice ride and it just kept getting better as the
temperatures continued to warm up. During the ride a bike joined the small
group. A quick not really scheduled stop in Astor picked up a couple of more
bikes. We were now 12 and continued to Sparky’s for a great lunch.
Later I sent a note to Don asking if he could send me the
GPS route he had used, his reply was “you must think I am smarter than I am, I
can show you on a map”.
What a great ride, I am sure all of those with us enjoyed it
as much as I did.
Thanks DON!!!
