Busy Day!

Atlas Rocket Launch

Yup Wednesday turned out to be a busy play day.
Off early morning with the boys for a quick ride to the shooting range. One of the fellows had a new toy that he wanted to fire and check out. In my standard fashion I plunked away with the 22lr Beretta and this time a S&W22lr. Good fun, lots of holes in the paper. In spite of all the gun control issues here in the US the range was a very busy spot, even closed off for a while because all shooting positions were full. This is a county owned and run range under the control of Parks and Services. It is well controlled, managed by Range Masters under the employ of the county.
After the range we were off for a Motorcycle ride to Deland for lunch on the river. This is my second stop at this place in a week, good spot, good food, great place to sit outside on the river and once again the serving staff were great. We ligered here for a good deal of time.
Off for a ride towards home touring past the big homes and the horse farms, very nice. Oh a stop for an adult beverage, nice ride.
Home and an afternoon 30 minute nap, oh man its 6pm and off for bike night.
Wednesday night $1 beers, loud music, pool and people watching. It was an unbelievably warm night and the crowd was big, two beers and a hotdog, the hotdog cost what the two beers cost, more good fun.
One of the girls and I walked down to the Main Street Pier at about 8:30 pm to take in a Rocket Launch from the Kennedy Space Center. Right on time, 8:48 the sky in the south turned a pain glow of orange and the rocket was away. We watched until the glow became brighter and bright in the sky fading away to a star like glow until it was gone. Just something else you don't see every day.
Back to the bar where a really drunk lady was looking for a fight with one of our ladies. The drunk lady was shooting figure gestures at one of our ladies, fortunately the husband finally stepped in and sent the drunk lady away. Oh more life!
It was a great day, lots going on and lots of fun!
