Great Day

It was a cold morning, only 38f outside my window this morning but I was on the road at about 7:45am in the cold. I was the main Road Captain on a HOG ride today and I had/wanted to check the very first 10 miles of the ride prior to its start. In addition I wanted to attend a Road Captain parking lot practice session set to begin at 9:00am so I was moving kind of fast in the cold.
The route checked out good so off to the parking lot practice. Man 21 Road Captains showed up and four fellows from the Daytona Drill team were out to set up the practice, the riding course and pass along advice. What a good session. After about 20 minutes of drills I was Hot and had to stop and take off some clothing.
The session ran about 1.5 hours, was good fun and I know for sure it helped my riding skills, a good thing for sure.
Ride time, 11:00am and I had about 34 fellow bikes lined up for a ride and lunch at Hidden Treasures in Rose Bay. From the start point a direct route might have been 15 miles and maybe 25 minutes. Well not for this group, I turned the ride into 78 miles and just about 2 hours. Good group, great ride around the outskirts of Daytona, down south returning north along the Route 1 to Rose Bay. The route is now known as the Big Circle Route. Oh yes, lunch on the deck overlooking Rose Bay in the sunshine, good food, good company, what more could you ask for.
One more great day in the books!
