Full Day

Linda with our plastic bagged Beer

At the Beaver

At the Beaver

Yes it was a full day, Saturday.
A small group of us were off early in the morning heading to the Crescent City Annual Catfish Festival. Crescent City is not very big and this is the big event of the year. As you can guess they are located on Crescent Lake which is one of the biggest lakes of the area and is part of the St John's River system. The area offers some of the best fishing in Florida. The Catfish record catches are 61.5 and 48.4 pounds, these are big fish. In any case a fair like atmosphere surrounds this annual event, food of course, games, music a car show and a real well done local parade.
We enjoyed the parade from the side of the street and happened to be standing beside the dumpiest little Mexican grocery store you have ever seen. I decided I wanted an adult beverage and went inside, very interesting place, it smelled great. I picked up two beers and the little girl at the cash apologized for not having little brown bags for me, plastic instead, oh well no big deal.
After the parade we proceeded to lunch in Fruitland City, for those who had not eaten Catfish and even some who had. Good Stop.
Off to Palatika for a stop, followed by a return ride to the Beaver for a lat afternoon stop.
It was sunny and wonderful sitting around the Beaver, the live music was not to loud and good.
Early evening off to the house after a full day on the road, early to bed.
One more great day had passed me by.
